Tips:

  • Choose the right chicken: For the best flavor and texture, use boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs. If you're using frozen chicken, be sure to thaw it completely before cooking.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan: When browning the chicken, be sure to work in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding the pan. This will help the chicken to brown evenly and prevent it from steaming.
  • Use a variety of beans: Feel free to experiment with different types of beans in your chili. Some popular options include kidney beans, black beans, and pinto beans.
  • Add some heat: If you like your chili with a kick, be sure to add some diced jalapeños or a teaspoon or two of chili powder.
  • Simmer for flavor: The longer you simmer your chili, the more flavorful it will be. Aim for at least 30 minutes, but you can simmer it for up to an hour if you have time.
  • Serve with your favorite toppings: Once your chili is cooked, serve it with your favorite toppings. Some popular options include shredded cheese, sour cream, diced avocado, and chopped cilantro.
