This was a popular drink among my circle of friends in the mid-1970s or so. I had almost forgot about it until I came across it recently when visiting the Drink Swap website. So I thought I would post the recipe here so I wouldn't ever forget about it again. If mixed correctly, the blackberry brandy will slowly settle down through the orange juice layer, which creates uneven or striated colors that are said to resemble a sunset (hence the drink's name).

Yield 1 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 3

1 1/2 ounces tequila rose
2 ounces orange juice
ice

Steps:

  • Mix Tequila Rose and orange juice. Shaking will make a thicker drink, stirring will make it thinner.
  • Serve in a wine glass over ice.

Tips:

  • Use fresh ingredients: Fresh fruits, vegetables, and herbs will give your Tequila Sunset cocktail the best flavor. If you can, buy organic ingredients whenever possible.
  • Choose a good quality tequila: The tequila you use will make a big difference in the taste of your cocktail. Look for a tequila that is 100% agave and has a smooth, slightly sweet flavor.
  • Don't over-shake the cocktail: Shaking the cocktail too much will make it cloudy and dilute the flavors. Shake it just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Serve the cocktail immediately: Tequila Sunset cocktails are best enjoyed fresh. Don't let them sit around for too long, or the ice will melt and dilute the flavors.

Conclusion:

Tequila Sunset cocktails are a refreshing and flavorful way to enjoy tequila. They're perfect for sipping on a hot summer day or enjoying with friends at a party. With just a few simple ingredients, you can easily make a delicious Tequila Sunset cocktail at home. So next time you're looking for a fun and easy cocktail to make, give the Tequila Sunset a try!
