TERIYAKI STEAK MARINADE

Teriyaki Grilled Rib Eye Steak
This example was done with a well marbled, tender rib eye steaks, but this marinade can used equally well with any steak -- or chicken or fish for that matter. I like to use fresh ingredients whenever possible, as it really makes a difference in the flavors you get.
Marinade Ingredients
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons water
1 tablespoon brown sugar
2 teaspoons honey
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon white vinegar
1 teaspoon olive oil
1 clove garlic, minced
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon ginger, fresh finely chopped
Mix together all of these ingredients in a bowl and whisk well to be sure that the honey and brown sugar are incorporated.

Steps:

  • In this example, this marinade produces enough to marinate two steaks, so it would be sufficient for two of anything (chicken breasts, salmon steaks etc). Place your steaks in a Ziploc bag and pour in the marinade. Marinate in the refrigerator for four to six hours (you can go longer if you wish!): When you are ready to grill, remove the steaks from the marinade and allow them to drip dry. Be sure that your grill is heated up and ready to go. Brush the steaks with canola oil on both sides and apply sea salt and cracked black pepper to taste on both sides.

MAUI TERIYAKI SAUCE MARINADE

Maui Teriyaki Sauce Marinade image

My family likes to use this marinade for pork chops, pork ribs or basically any meat that you choose to grill on the BBQ. It has a nice flavor and is quick and easy to do. You can marinate over night or just an hour... of course like most things the longer the marinating the stronger the flavor. This can also be halved for smaller family meals (1/2 recipe covers 4 small pork chops nicely.) I hope you enjoy :)

LARRY'S TERIYAKI MARINADE

Larry's Teriyaki Marinade image

We were invited over to the neighbors for lunch the other day, and Larry had grilled up some steak strips soaked in this sauce. They were out of this world. Here is the recipe.

Provided by Snowpeas

Categories     Low Cholesterol

Time 10m

Yield 1 cup

Number Of Ingredients 6

1/2 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup water
2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
1 teaspoon fresh ginger, finely chopped
2 tablespoons sugar

Steps:

  • Combine all ingredients and pour over steak strips.
  • Marinate at least an hour or two - overnight is better!
  • Drain and broil or grill meat.
  • Note: You can also mix ingredients in a ziploc bag and marinate right in the bag.

Nutrition Facts : Calories 210.5, Fat 0.2, Sodium 8048.8, Carbohydrate 39.3, Fiber 2, Sugar 29.4, Protein 16

Tips:

  • Choose the right cut of meat: For best results, use a tender cut of meat, such as flank steak, skirt steak, or chicken breasts. Avoid using tough cuts of meat, as they will not become tender even after marinating.
  • Score the meat: Scoring the meat helps the marinade to penetrate more deeply. To score the meat, use a sharp knife to make shallow cuts across the surface of the meat, about 1/4 inch deep.
  • Marinate the meat for at least 30 minutes: The longer you marinate the meat, the more flavorful it will be. However, do not marinate the meat for more than 24 hours, as this can make the meat tough.
  • Use a non-reactive container: When marinating the meat, use a non-reactive container, such as a glass or ceramic bowl. Avoid using metal containers, as they can react with the acids in the marinade and alter the flavor of the meat.
  • Discard the marinade: After marinating the meat, discard the marinade. Do not reuse the marinade, as it may contain harmful bacteria.
  • Cook the meat over high heat: When cooking the meat, cook it over high heat to quickly sear the outside and prevent the marinade from burning.

Conclusion:

Teriyaki marinade is a versatile and flavorful marinade that can be used on a variety of meats, poultry, and vegetables. By following these tips, you can create delicious and tender teriyaki dishes that your family and friends will love. So next time you're looking for a marinade, give teriyaki a try!
