Categories     Sweet Breads

Time 1h20m

Number Of Ingredients 10

2 c all purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp nutmeg
2/3 tsp sal
2/3 c margarine
1 1/2 c sugar
2 large eggs
4 Tbsp sour cream
1 c fresh mashed peaches
1 c chopped pecans

Steps:

  • 1. In a bowl, stir flour, baking powder, nutmeg, and salt.
  • 2. In a large bowl, cream sugar and margarine. Add eggs and sour cream: beat well.
  • 3. Add flour and peaches and mix. Add pecans and stir in well by hand.
  • 4. Bake at 350 for 50-60 minutes. Makes one large loaf. (Or, 2 small loaf pans)

Tips:

  • Choose ripe, flavorful peaches. The sweetness and flavor of the peaches will come through in the bread, so it's important to start with good fruit. Look for peaches that are fragrant and have a slight give when you press them gently.
  • Don't overmix the batter. Overmixing can make the bread tough. Stir just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Use a bundt pan for a beautiful presentation. A bundt pan will give the bread a classic, elegant look. If you don't have a bundt pan, you can also use a loaf pan.
  • Serve the bread warm or at room temperature. Peach pecan bread is best enjoyed when it's fresh out of the oven or has had a chance to cool slightly. You can also toast the slices for a crispy exterior and a warm, fluffy interior.
  • Store the bread in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or in the freezer for up to 2 months.

Conclusion:

Texas peach pecan bread is a delicious and versatile quick bread that's perfect for any occasion. It's easy to make and can be enjoyed for breakfast, lunch, or dessert. With its sweet, juicy peaches, crunchy pecans, and warm, nutty spices, this bread is sure to be a hit with everyone who tries it. So next time you're looking for a special treat, give Texas peach pecan bread a try!
