Thanksgiving Turkey Cookies Recipe - (4.4/5) image

Provided by á-10360

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 roll (16.5 ounce) Pillsbury® refrigerated sugar cookies or 1 (16 ounce) package Pillsbury® Ready To Bake!™ refrigerated sugar cookies
1 (16 ounce) container chocolate creamy frosting
Candy corn
Orange decorating icing
Miniature candy-coated chocolate baking bits

Steps:

  • Bake cookies as directed on roll or package. Cool completely, about 10 minutes. Spoon chocolate frosting into 1-quart Ziploc® Brand storage bag; seal bag. Cut off tiny bottom corner of bag. On each cookie, pipe frosting on outer edge of half of cookie. Arrange candy corn over frosting for feathers. Pipe orange icing onto each cookie to resemble turkey face and feet. Use orange icing to attach baking bits to turkey face for eyes. Pipe black gel on baking bits for centers of eyes.

Tips:

  • Use high-quality ingredients: The better the ingredients, the better the cookies will taste. Look for fresh, organic ingredients whenever possible.
  • Measure your ingredients accurately: This is especially important for baking, as even a small error in measurement can affect the outcome of your cookies.
  • Don't overmix your dough: Overmixing can make your cookies tough and dry. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Chill your dough before baking: This will help the cookies spread less and keep their shape. You can chill the dough for at least 30 minutes, or up to overnight.
  • Bake your cookies at the right temperature: The temperature of your oven will affect the texture of your cookies. For crispy cookies, bake at a higher temperature. For softer cookies, bake at a lower temperature.
  • Let your cookies cool completely before decorating: This will help prevent the decorations from melting or sliding off the cookies.

Conclusion:

With so many delicious Thanksgiving cookie recipes to choose from, you're sure to find one that everyone will love. Whether you prefer classic cookies like pumpkin pie cookies or snickerdoodles, or you're looking for something more unique like maple pecan cookies or cranberry orange cookies, you're sure to find a recipe that will be a hit at your Thanksgiving gathering.
