THE PERFECT MARGARITA

The Perfect Margarita image

Mastering the margarita requires a certain amount of practice, but once you dial-in your perfect ratio, it's a really easy cocktail to replicate. The classic recipe is 3 parts tequila, 2 parts triple sec, and 1 part freshly squeezed lime juice, and you should probably start off pretty close to that, but my personal favorite proportions are 4-3-2.

THE BEST EASY MARGARITA

The Best Easy Margarita image

I've had friends say that they can't tell the difference between this and a real margarita! I made up this recipe myself one day when I was preparing for camping at a music festival. I needed lots of booze, preferably refreshing. And this is the awesome result. I think you could make this into a frozen margarita by putting it in the freezer then blending it, but I like them much more on ice. **Note** This is VERY STRONG. If you want to make it less strong, add another 1/2 qt limeade. Any more diminishes the flavor. I recommend using Newman's Own Limeade. Also, I don't recommend using crappy tequila, use only what you would drink straight.

Tips:

  • Use fresh lime juice. Fresh lime juice has a much brighter and more flavorful taste than bottled or store-bought lime juice. If you can, try to use freshly squeezed lime juice for the best results.
  • Use a good quality tequila. The quality of the tequila you use will have a big impact on the overall flavor of the margarita. Look for a tequila that is 100% agave and has a smooth, slightly sweet taste.
  • Use Cointreau or Grand Marnier. Cointreau and Grand Marnier are two popular orange liqueurs that are used in margaritas. Cointreau has a slightly more bitter flavor, while Grand Marnier is sweeter. Choose the one that you prefer.
  • Use a good quality salt. The salt that you use to rim the glass should be fine and not too coarse. Kosher salt or sea salt are both good choices.
  • Chill your glass before serving. Chilling your glass before serving will help to keep the margarita cold and refreshing.

Conclusion:

The margarita is a classic cocktail that is perfect for any occasion. With its refreshing flavor and simple ingredients, it's no wonder that it's one of the most popular cocktails in the world. Whether you like your margaritas frozen, on the rocks, or blended, there's a recipe out there for everyone.
