THE PERFECT MARGARITA

The Perfect Margarita image

Mastering the margarita requires a certain amount of practice, but once you dial-in your perfect ratio, it's a really easy cocktail to replicate. The classic recipe is 3 parts tequila, 2 parts triple sec, and 1 part freshly squeezed lime juice, and you should probably start off pretty close to that, but my personal favorite proportions are 4-3-2.

THE REAL CADILLAC MARGARITA

The Real Cadillac Margarita image

There is another recipe for a Cadillac on this site, it is not the real deal. The other recipe has you adding sweet & sour mix into it, but a Cadillac should never, EVER contain sweet & sour or any other "mix" as it is a purists' margarita. If you were a bartender and had someone ask you for a Cadillac, I can assure you that if you put sweet & sour in it, they would not be returning to your bar. This is the real deal Cadillac, served in a martini glass, shaken like a martini.

Tips for Making the Perfect Margarita:

  • Choose the right tequila. Use 100% agave tequila, preferably reposado or añejo tequila for a smoother flavor.
  • Use fresh lime juice. Freshly squeezed lime juice gives the margarita a brighter, more vibrant flavor.
  • Use good-quality Cointreau. Cointreau is a type of orange liqueur that adds a subtle sweetness and complexity to the margarita.
  • Don't skimp on the salt. The salt rim on the glass is essential for balancing out the sweetness of the margarita.
  • Shake it up properly. Shake the margarita vigorously for at least 10 seconds to ensure that the ingredients are well combined and chilled.
  • Serve it chilled. The margarita should be served chilled, either over ice or straight up.

Conclusion:

The margarita is a classic cocktail that is perfect for any occasion. With its refreshing flavor and versatility, it's no wonder that the margarita is one of the most popular cocktails in the world. So next time you're looking for a delicious and easy-to-make cocktail, give the margarita a try. Cheers!
