Steps:
- In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, lemon juice, olive oil, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, pepper, salt, and a pinch of red pepper. Add steaks to a resealable zip lock bag or large bowl and pour the marinade on top. Marinate for 2 hours or overnight.
- Turn the skillet to high heat. Add the steaks. Cook on each side for 3 minutes or until outside is browned. Reduce heat to medium-high. Cook the steaks to the desired doneness. Mine took about 10 minutes flipping 3 times to get a medium well.
- Top with butter and garnish with fresh parsley if desired
Tips:
- Use a flavorful cut of steak, such as ribeye, strip loin, or tenderloin. Using a lower-quality cut will result in a less flavorful marinade.
- Tenderize the steak before marinating. This can be done by using a meat mallet or by piercing the steak with a fork.
- Marinate the steak for at least 30 minutes, but no longer than 24 hours for thin-cut steaks. Marinating for too long can make the steak tough.
- Use a non-reactive container for marinating, such as a glass or plastic bowl. Do not use a metal container, as this can react with the marinade and alter the flavor of the steak.
- Keep the steak refrigerated while marinating. This will help to prevent bacteria from growing.
- Discard the marinade after use. Do not reuse it, as it may contain harmful bacteria.
- Cook the steak over high heat to sear in the juices and flavor.
- Let the steak rest for a few minutes before serving. This will allow the juices to redistribute throughout the steak, resulting in a more tender and flavorful bite.
