TROPICAL TURKEY SALAD

This is the best Turkey Salad I have ever tasted! It is totally addictive! It can be eaten on a bed of greens or between slices of your favorite bread. It is best eaten after chilled in the refrigerator for a couple hours, but it can be eaten immediately after being prepared as well. Inspired by a newly adopted Zaar recipe.

Time 12m

Yield 4-6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 18

2 lbs turkey tenderloins or 2 lbs turkey breast, Cooked and Cubed
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup sour cream
1/4 cup mango, Cut Into Small Cubes
1/4 cup red onion, Cubed
1/4 cup red pepper, Cubed
1/4 cup pineapple, Sliced
1/4 cup banana, Cubed
1/2 lime, Juice
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 tablespoon fresh cilantro
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper (or adjust for more heat)
1 tablespoon orange juice
2 tablespoons chopped macadamia nuts (optional)

Steps:

  • Mix all ingredients together in a bowl.
  • Place scoop on salad greens or use as filling between your favorite bread.

Tips:

  • Choose ripe mangoes. Ripe mangoes are sweeter and have a more pronounced flavor. You can tell a mango is ripe by its color. Look for mangoes that are yellow or orange, with a slight green tinge. Avoid mangoes that are green or have brown spots.
  • Use fresh herbs. Fresh herbs, such as cilantro and mint, add a lot of flavor to tropical turkey salad. If you can, use fresh herbs from your garden or a local farmers market.
  • Don't overcook the turkey. Overcooked turkey is dry and tough. Cook the turkey until it is just cooked through, about 10 minutes per pound.
  • Chill the salad before serving. This will help the flavors to meld and the salad will be more refreshing.

Conclusion:

Tropical turkey salad is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for a summer party or potluck. With its sweet and savory flavors, this salad is sure to be a hit with everyone who tries it. So next time you're looking for a light and refreshing meal, give tropical turkey salad a try.
