LEFTOVER TURKEY CASSEROLE

I found this recipe in Turkey Saftyband Recipes For Leftovers from Cornell Cooperative Extension. When I made this recipe I used 2 cups Turkey Stock, ground sage, and I left out the boiled eggs as that just didn't sound good to me. I think this needs more seasonings especially salt and the velveeta should be shredded not cubed. I would recommend soaking the macaroni why preping the rest of the food as the macaroni on top stays hard.

Tips:

  • Use high-quality ingredients: Fresh, flavorful ingredients will make a big difference in the taste of your turkey casserole. Use high-quality turkey, vegetables, and herbs.
  • Don't overcook the turkey: Overcooked turkey will be dry and tough. Cook it just until it reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Use a variety of vegetables: Vegetables add flavor, texture, and nutrients to your casserole. Use a variety of vegetables, such as carrots, celery, onions, potatoes, and peas.
  • Use a flavorful sauce: The sauce is what brings all the flavors of the casserole together. Use a flavorful sauce, such as a creamy mushroom sauce, a cheesy sauce, or a savory gravy.
  • Top it with a crispy topping: A crispy topping adds texture and flavor to your casserole. Top it with a breadcrumb topping, a crushed cracker topping, or a crispy onion topping.
  • Let it rest before serving: Let the casserole rest for 10-15 minutes before serving. This will allow the flavors to meld and the casserole to set.

Conclusion:

Turkey casserole is a delicious and easy way to use up leftover turkey. With a few simple ingredients and a little bit of time, you can create a flavorful and satisfying casserole that the whole family will enjoy. Whether you're looking for a quick and easy weeknight meal or a special dish for a holiday gathering, turkey casserole is a great option.
