UNSTUFFED CABBAGE ROLL
This is a quick and easy main dish. My kids don't even like cabbage, but they love this. I usually try to serve it with green beans, new potatoes, corn, and a pan of corn bread. They eat over half the pan every time. Also, the longer it stands the better it tastes.

Tips:
- Use a large pot: You'll need a large pot to fit all of the cabbage rolls and the sauce. A Dutch oven or a large stockpot are both good options.
- Brown the cabbage rolls before simmering: Browning the cabbage rolls before simmering them in the sauce helps to develop their flavor and give them a nice crust.
- Use a variety of vegetables: Don't be afraid to get creative with the vegetables you use in your cabbage rolls. Some good options include carrots, celery, onions, mushrooms, and bell peppers.
- Make sure the cabbage leaves are tender: If the cabbage leaves are too tough, they will be difficult to roll and will not cook evenly. To tenderize the cabbage leaves, blanch them in boiling water for a few minutes before rolling them.
- Use a flavorful sauce: The sauce is a key component of cabbage rolls, so make sure it's flavorful. A good option is to use a tomato-based sauce or a beef broth-based sauce.
- Serve with your favorite sides: Cabbage rolls are a hearty and filling meal, but they can be even better when served with your favorite sides. Some good options include mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a side salad.
Conclusion:
Cabbage rolls are a delicious and versatile dish that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. They are a great way to use up leftover cabbage and other vegetables, and they can be tailored to your own taste preferences. Whether you like your cabbage rolls stuffed with meat, vegetables, or a combination of both, there is a recipe out there for you.
