Tips:

  • Choose fresh, tender spinach. Wilted spinach salad is best made with fresh, young spinach leaves. Avoid spinach that is wilted, yellowed, or has tough stems.
  • Wash the spinach thoroughly. Be sure to wash the spinach thoroughly to remove any dirt or grit. You can do this by submerging the spinach in a bowl of cold water and gently swishing it around. Drain the water and repeat the process until the water runs clear.
  • Pickle the shallots ahead of time. The pickled shallots can be made up to 2 weeks in advance. This will give them time to develop a delicious flavor.
  • Make the sherry vinaigrette just before serving. The sherry vinaigrette is best when it is freshly made. This will ensure that the flavors are bright and vibrant.
  • Toss the salad gently. When you are tossing the salad, be gentle to avoid bruising the spinach leaves.
  • Serve the salad immediately. Wilted spinach salad is best served immediately after it is made. This will prevent the spinach from becoming too wilted.

Conclusion:

Wilted spinach salad with pickled shallots and sherry vinaigrette is a delicious and refreshing salad that is perfect for a light lunch or dinner. The pickled shallots add a tangy flavor to the salad, while the sherry vinaigrette adds a rich and flavorful dressing. This salad is also very easy to make and can be prepared in just a few minutes.
