Time 30m

Yield 3-5 cups

Number Of Ingredients 7

2 cups soy sauce
3/4 cup brown sugar, divided
3/4 cup white sugar, divided
8 green onions, cut into 1 1/2 inch sections
4 slices fresh gingerroot
1 garlic clove, chopped
1 cup honey

  • Pour the remaining white and brown sugar and the honey into the saucepan. Bring to a boil. The mixture will rise and foam, when it does this and doubles in size remove the pan from heat and cool.

Tips:

  • Use a variety of vegetables. This will give your teriyaki sauce a more complex flavor and texture. Some good options include bell peppers, onions, carrots, and broccoli.
  • Don't be afraid to experiment with different fruits. Pineapple, mango, and peaches all work well in teriyaki sauce. They add a touch of sweetness and acidity that can balance out the salty and savory flavors of the sauce.
  • Use a good quality soy sauce. This is the base of your teriyaki sauce, so it's important to use a good one. Look for a soy sauce that is dark and flavorful.
  • Simmer the sauce for at least 30 minutes. This will allow the flavors to develop and deepen. You can also simmer the sauce for longer if you want a more concentrated flavor.
  • Use the sauce as a marinade or glaze. Teriyaki sauce can be used to marinate chicken, beef, or tofu before cooking. It can also be used as a glaze for vegetables or fish.

Conclusion:

Yoshida's Teriyaki Sauce is a delicious and versatile condiment that can be used in a variety of dishes. It's perfect for marinating, glazing, or dipping. With its sweet, savory, and slightly tangy flavor, it's sure to please everyone at your table. So next time you're looking for a new way to add flavor to your meals, give Teriyaki Sauce a try.
