Favorite recipe from my childhood. Wonderful with fresh Michigan blueberries. The cooking directions might seem a little unusual, but the end result is a very crispy topped cake. Trust me, it's worth it!!!

Steps:
- Line a well greased 8x8x2 pan with berries.
- Sprinkle with lemon juice.
- Cream together 1/2 cup sugar and butter.
- Add milk, flour, baking powder and salt.
- Pour over berries.
- Combine sugar, cornstarch and salt.
- Sprinkle evenly over top of cake.
- Pour boiling water over all.
- Bake 45 minute to 1 hour at 375degrees until light brown.
- ****You can use any fruit. Peaches and strawberries are also WONDERFUL.
