Broccoli & Rice Casserole image

This is the broccoli and cheese casserole I grew up with. I've tried many others but always come back to this one!

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 cup rice, cooked
2 boxes frozen cut broccoli in cheese sauce, chopped
1/2 cup margarine
1 onion, chopped and browned
1 1/2 cans cream of mushroom soup, heated
1 1/2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, grated

Steps:

  • Mix all ingredients together, leaving out 1/2 cup grated cheese.
  • Sprinkle that cheese over top; bake for 25 minutes at 350 degrees.

Not a fan. The casserole was bland and the texture was off.

I was really excited to try this recipe, but I was disappointed with the results. The casserole was bland and watery, and the broccoli was mushy. I think I may have overcooked it, but even so, I don't think this recipe is worth repeating.

I followed the recipe exactly and it turned out great! The casserole was creamy and flavorful, and the broccoli was cooked perfectly. However, I found that it was a bit too salty for my taste. Next time, I will reduce the amount of salt by half.
