Steps:
- Preheat broiler.
- Cut tomatoes in half and arrange them on a lightly oiled baking dish. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
- Cut garlic in thin slivers. Stud tomato halves with garlic.
- Place tomatoes under broiler and broil 5 minutes or until garlic starts to burn. Discard garlic and serve.
