I serve this alot when I have to carry a dish somewhere. I also serve it with a pot of cajun beans. I have people that can't believe that it's cabbage, you just can't get stop eating add, beans, cornbread and you got some good groceries

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 lb ground chuck
1 medium onion
6 c chopped cabbage
1 1/4 c uncooked long grain rice
1 can(s) 14 1/2oz stewed tomatoes
1 can(s) 8oz tomato, sauce
1 c water
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp salt and pepper
1 tsp cajun seasoning

Steps:

  • 1. In large Dutch oven, brown ground beef;add onion. Cook onions until transparent ;add the rice, tomatoes, tomato sauce, water seasonings and cabbage. Cover and bake at 375 for 50-60 or until cabbage is tender. Freezes great Note:if it looks dry you can and water or another can of tomato sauce just depends on your taste!
