Number Of Ingredients 4

3 grapefruit, rind of
1/2 cup white corn syrup
1 cup water
granulated sugar (to roll rind in)

  • Cut peel into strips (scissors work well).
  • Cook peel gently in corn syrup until most is absorbed and the peel is shiny.
  • Watch carefully as it can burn.

  • Will keep in a tightly covered jar a long time.

Overall, I thought this recipe was just okay. The candied grapefruit peel was a bit too sweet and chewy for my taste. I might try a different recipe next time.

I had some trouble finding grapefruit that was organic. I ended up using conventional grapefruit, but I'm not sure if that affected the taste.

The candied grapefruit peel was a bit too chewy for my liking. I would cook it for a shorter amount of time next time.

This recipe is a bit too sweet for my taste. I would reduce the amount of sugar next time.

Candied grapefruit peel is the perfect way to use up leftover grapefruit. It's a great snack or addition to desserts.

I used blood grapefruit for this recipe and it gave the candied peel a beautiful pink hue. It was a lovely addition to my fruit salad.
