Number Of Ingredients 7

3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice (from about 1/2 lemon)
1/2 teaspoon salt, plus more to taste
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper, plus more to taste
3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
1 1/4 pounds assorted tomatoes (such as regular vine-ripened tomatoes, plum tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, grape tomatoes, and yellow teardrop tomatoes)
6 ounces fresh mozzarella cheese, drained and sliced
2 tablespoons thinly sliced fresh basil leaves

Steps:

  • Whisk the lemon juice, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon pepper in a medium bowl. Gradually whisk in the oil to blend. Set the dressing aside.
  • Cut the regular tomatoes into 1/4-inch-thick slices, and the plum tomatoes into wedges. Cut the cherry, grape, and teardrop tomatoes in half. Arrange the tomatoes and cheese on a platter. Drizzle the dressing over. Sprinkle with the basil and additional salt and pepper to taste, and serve.

I love Caprese salad, but this recipe was just so-so. I think it needed more salt and pepper.

This salad is a waste of time. It's just a bunch of chopped tomatoes and cheese.

I thought this salad was just okay. The tomatoes were a bit bland and the mozzarella was too rubbery.

This salad was a bit too simple for my taste. I would have liked to see some more ingredients, like maybe some avocado or grilled chicken.

I'm not usually a fan of tomatoes, but I loved this salad. The combination of flavors was perfect and the tomatoes were actually really good.

This salad is so simple to make, yet it's so flavorful. I love the combination of the sweet tomatoes, creamy mozzarella, and tangy balsamic vinegar.

I've made this salad many times and it's always a hit. The key is to use fresh, ripe tomatoes and mozzarella. I also like to add a little bit of chopped red onion for some extra flavor.

This Caprese salad was a refreshing and delicious summer dish. The combination of fresh tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil was perfect, and the balsamic vinegar and olive oil dressing added a nice touch of flavor. I will definitely be making this salad
