I had been searching for a dish for a picnic party I was hosting and had come across this recipe, the ingredient that really hooked me was the ranch dressing packet, I knew it had to be good! 30 oz packaged shredded hashbrowns (i buy the 15 ounce bags in the refrigerated section)
2 pt sour cream, lite
1 pkg 1 ounce pkg. dry ranch dressing mix
2 c cheddar cheese, shredded
1/2 c onion, diced
10 slice bacon, cooked till crispy and crumbled

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 400* and grease a 9 x 13 baking dish
  • 2. In a large bowl combine sour cream, ranch mix, crumbled bacon, and onion, mix well. Then add shredded hashbrowns and stir until everything is evenly incorperated.
  • 3. Pour mixture into prepared baking dish and spread evenly, bake for @ 45 minutes.
