Cherry Berry Sangria image

This sangria has the perfect amount of sweetness and complements the sun-ripened berries of summer--and there is enough alcohol to knock you on your butt without noticing!

12 sweet cherries, pitted
1 cup strawberries, quartered
½ cup blueberries
1 orange, zested and juiced
½ tablespoon lime zest
1 (750 milliliter) bottle red wine
¼ cup bourbon (such as Maker's Mark ®)
2 tablespoons mint leaves, or as needed

Steps:

  • Combine cherries, strawberries, and blueberries in a grill pan over medium heat. Cook and stir until fruit softens and juices are released, 3 to 5 minutes.
  • Place berry mixture, orange zest, and lime zest in the bottom of a carafe and muddle. Add orange juice, wine, and bourbon. Add mint leaves; gently stir. Chill for 2 hours before serving.
