CHOCOLATE CHIP DATE COFFEE CAKE image

Coffee cake is a good breakfast or brunch. Serve with . cup of hot tea or hot coffee. This recipe is for ( Time after Time ) breakfast.

Number Of Ingredients 15

STEP ONE:
1 c dates chopped
1 1/2 c boiling water
1 tsp baking soda
STEP TWO:
2 1/2 c butter
1 c sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vinilla
1 1/2 c flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
STEP THREE:
3 1/2 c brown sugar
1/2 c walnuts
1 c chocolate chips

Steps:

  • 1. Mix dates, boiling water, and soda together let cool.
  • 2. Cream butter and sugar together.
  • 3. Add eggs and vanilla.
  • 4. Add flour and soda.
  • 5. Add the cooled date mixture from step one.
  • 6. Pour into greased and floured 9 by 13 pan.
  • 7. Sprinkle ingredients in step 3 over top and bake 35 to 40 minutes at 350 degrees
