Yield 8

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 cup butter, softened
⅓ cup confectioners' sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
1 cup ground pecans
½ cup German sweet chocolate, grated
¾ teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 pinch salt
½ cup confectioners' sugar
¼ cup German sweet chocolate, grated

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, cream the butter and 1/3 cup confectioner's sugar until light and fluffy. Add the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the flour, ground pecans, 1/2 cup ground chocolate, cinnamon and salt; mix well.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture.
  • Wrap dough in plastic wrap and chill 1 to 2 hours, or until firm.
  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (180 degrees C).
  • Shape the dough into 1-inch balls. Place balls 1 inch apart on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake 15 to 18 minutes, or until the cookies are firm to the touch. Cool 1 minute on the baking sheet, then transfer to a wire rack.
  • For the coating, sift 1/2 cup of the confectioner's sugar and 1/4 cup of the ground cocoa into a shallow bowl. While cookies are still warm, roll them in the coating.

I'm not sure what I did wrong, but my cookies turned out really flat. They still tasted good, but they didn't look as pretty as the ones in the picture.

These cookies are my new favorite! They're so easy to make and they taste amazing. I love the combination of chocolate and pecans. I've already made them twice in the past week and I'm sure I'll be making them again soon.

I'm a professional baker and I have to say, these cookies are incredible! They're the perfect balance of sweet and savory, and the texture is amazing. I'd highly recommend them to anyone looking for a delicious and easy-to-make cookie.

These cookies were a disappointment. They were too crumbly and didn't have much flavor. I won't be making them again.

Not bad! I thought the cookies were a little dry, but my husband really liked them. I might try adding some more butter next time to see if that helps.

These cookies were a bit more work than I expected, but they were worth it! They're so rich and flavorful, and the chocolate chips add a nice touch. I'll definitely be making these again for special occasions.

I've made these cookies several times now and they're always a hit. They're so simple to make and they taste delicious. I love that I can make them ahead of time and freeze them, so I always have a sweet treat on hand.

I'm not a huge fan of Mexican wedding cakes, but these cookies were surprisingly good! They're light and crispy, with just the right amount of sweetness. I could definitely see myself making these again.

These cookies were an easy but delicious treat! My family loved them and said they tasted like a cross between a snickerdoodle and a shortbread cookie. I'd definitely make them again for a quick and yummy snack.
