The secret to this recipe is the cream of chicken soup. For years I made the dish without the soup and one day it occurred to me to give it a try. Wow! I'll never go back. This is SO good!

Steps:
- 1. In a 5-qt. Dutch oven, bring chicken broth to a boil over medium heat.
- 2. Add undiluted cream of chicken soup and mix well.
- 3. Add the noodles; flake the chicken and add that. Add salt and pepper; mix thoroughly.
- 4. Lower the heat and cover pot, letting simmer for 45 minutes. If broth is too thin, leave uncovered and simmer another 10 or 15 minutes.
- 5. If it's too thick, dilute with a little water, cover and heat just until everythng is hot.
- 6. Serve over hot mashed potatoes.
