Time 40m

Yield 6 to 8 servings

Number Of Ingredients 6

1/2 quart buttermilk
1 tablespoon poultry seasoning
1 tablespoon salt
4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 three-pound fryer chickens, cut into serving pieces
Vegetable oil for frying

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine the buttermilk and the poultry seasoning, 1/2 tablespoon of salt and 1/2 cup of flour. Mix well. Place 4 cups flour and 1/2 tablespoon of salt in another large bowl or baking pan. Dip chicken pieces in the batter then roll them in the flour.
  • In a deep pot, heat about three inches of oil to 350 degrees.
  • Drop the chicken pieces in the hot oil, several at a time, and cook about 15 minutes, or until dark-golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels and keep warm before serving (the sooner served the better).

I made this recipe for a party and it was a huge hit. Everyone loved the chicken and asked for the recipe.

I'm allergic to gluten, so I used a gluten-free flour blend. The chicken turned out just as good as the regular version.

This recipe is a great starting point, but I made a few changes to suit my taste. I used a different type of flour and I added some herbs and spices to the breading mix.

I don't recommend this recipe. It's a waste of time and money.

The ingredients in this recipe are too expensive. I can't afford to buy all of this stuff.

This recipe is way too complicated. I don't have time to spend hours in the kitchen.

I'm not sure what went wrong, but my chicken turned out dry and overcooked. I followed the recipe exactly, so I'm not sure what happened.

This recipe is a great way to use up leftover chicken. I made a batch of fried chicken sandwiches and they were delicious.

I served the chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans. It was a hit with my family.

I added a bit of cayenne pepper to the breading mix for a little extra heat. It was delicious!

I used boneless, skinless chicken breasts and the cooking time was perfect. The chicken was cooked through but still juicy.

The chicken was crispy and flavorful, but the breading was a bit too thick for my taste.

This recipe was easy to follow and the chicken turned out great. I will definitely be making this again.

I was a bit hesitant to try this recipe because I'm not a big fan of fried chicken. But I'm glad I did because it was delicious! The chicken was tender and juicy, and the breading was crispy and flavorful.

I've tried many fried chicken recipes, but this one is by far the best. The chicken was cooked perfectly and the batter was flavorful and crispy.

This fried chicken recipe is a keeper! The chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The flavor was amazing, thanks to the secret blend of spices.
