My mother used to make this pound cake for Granny Miller back in the 60's. She wasn't really our grandmother but all the kids in the neighborhood called her Granny Miller. 1/2 lb butter, room temperature
2 c sugar
6 eggs
2 c all purpose flour
1 tsp vanilla

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350º F.
  • 2. Cream butter well; gradually add sugar; beat well after each addition. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add vanilla
  • 3. Sift flour, measure and add by folding in a little at a time by hand.
  • 4. Grease and flour a 10-inch tube pan (Mama always put wax paper in her tube pan). Pour in batter and bake at 350º about 45 minutes or until tooth pick comes out clean.
  • 5. Cool before removing from pan.
