GREEN TOMATO CASSEROLE image

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 cup green tomatoes,sliced thin
salt and black pepper,to taste
2 Tablespoons oil
1/4 cup onion,chopped
1/2 cup chunky salsa
1 cup cheddar cheese,shredded

Steps:

  • Season tomatoes with salt and pepper on both sides. Heat oil in a skillet,saute tomatoes 1-2 minutes on each side.Remove from skillet. In a baking dish layer half of the tomatoes,2 tablespoons of onions,1/4 cup salsa and one third of the cheese.Repeat layers. Bake in a 350 degree oven 15-20 minutes until tomatoes are tender.Sprinkle remaining 1/3 cup of cheese,return to oven to melt.
