I love this recipe because it uses up some 'stuff' left over in my kitchen. The sweet of the apples lends loads of flavor to the somewhat salty ham. You may want to watch the mustard if you are not used to a pretty strong mustard over-taste. Enjoy

Steps:
- 1. Cook macaroni in boiling salted water until just tender, 8 to 10 minutes; drain. Any dry pasta will do if you do not have macaroni on hand. Pennini works well.
- 2. In large saucepan melt the 1/4 cup butter; blend in flour, brown sugar, mustard, salt and pepper.
- 3. Add milk all at once; cook and stir until thickened and bubbly.
- 4. Stir in cooked macaroni, ham and apple slices.
- 5. Turn mixture into a 2 quart casserole.
- 6. Sprinkle bread crumbs and dot 2 tsp butter over casserole.
- 7. Bake, uncovered, at 350 for about 35 minutes.
