Yield 16 garlic knots

Steps:

  • Cut 1 pound pizza dough into 4 pieces; flatten each into a 4-inch square. Cut each square into 4 strips; tie each strip into a knot. Transfer to a parchment-lined baking sheet, brush with olive oil and loosely cover with plastic wrap; let rise 1 hour. Uncover and bake at 400 degrees F until golden, 12 to 15 minutes. Combine 3 tablespoons butter, 2 tablespoons olive oil, 3 minced garlic cloves, 2 anchovy fillets, 1 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes in a saucepan over medium heat; cook 1 to 2 minutes. Toss the knots with the butter and 3 tablespoons minced parsley; sprinkle with grated Parmesan.

These garlic knots were a waste of time. They were hard and flavorless.

The garlic knots were too salty for my taste. I think I'll use less salt next time.

These garlic knots were a bit dry. I think I should have added more butter to the herb butter.

I had a hard time getting the knots to stay tied. They kept coming undone. I think I need to practice a little more.

These garlic knots were a little bit too garlicky for my taste, but my husband loved them. I think I'll try making them again with less garlic next time.

I'm not a huge fan of garlic, but these knots were still really good. The herb butter was really flavorful and helped to balance out the garlic.
