Steps:
- 1. Combine first 5 ingredients in a mixing bowl.
- 2. Add remaining ingredients; stir well.
- 3. Let batter stand 5 minutes.
- 4. Carefully drop batter by level tablespoonfuls into deep hot oil (370 degrees); cook only a few at a time, turning once.
- 5. Fry 3 to 5 minutes or until hush puppies are golden brown.
- 6. Drain well on paper towels.
- 7. Yield: about 2 dozen.
