Isis and her Wicked Ginger Rum Cocktail image

I was watching television the other day and caught the tail end of a recipe. It sounded so good, that I went ahead and made it, just the way I heard it. Truly, it was perfection, so, I am placing it here to share with all of you. Do you love ginger, if so, than this is the drink for you, spicy and refreshing and oh so...

Time 5m

Number Of Ingredients 6

2 oz dark rum, havana club
10 oz ginger beer (soda)
1 oz soda water
1 tsp fresh, minced ginger
8 ice cubes
1 slice candied ginger (garnish)

Steps:

  • 1. Fill glass with ice, pour in rum, then the ginger beer; top with the soda water and grated ginger. Stir and garnish with a slice of candied ginger. Now, sit back and enjoy, it will take you away to somewhere warm and breezy.
  • 2. If you love strong ginger flavor like me, taste it before you add the soda water, it will mellow the flavor out.
  • 3. Delicious tall drink for one or two small ones to share.

I made this cocktail with vodka instead of rum and it was still really good. I think it would also be good with tequila.

This cocktail is a bit too sweet for my taste. I would recommend using less honey syrup or adding a bit more lime juice.

I'm not a huge fan of ginger, but this cocktail was still really good. The sweetness of the honey syrup and the tartness of the lime juice balance out the ginger flavor perfectly.

This cocktail is amazing! I made it for a party last weekend and it was a huge hit. The combination of ginger, rum, and lime is perfect and the sweetness of the honey syrup balances out the tartness of the lime juice. I will definitely be making this
