1/3 cup soft shortening
1/3 cup butter
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
6 ounces chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Mix shortening, butter, sugars, egg and vanilla.
  • Sift dry ingredients together and stir in.
  • Mix in chocolate chips.
  • Drop rounded teaspoons 2" apart.
  • Bake 8-10 minutes at 375 degrees.
