Steps:
- 1. I'm a big fan of the KFC famous bowls, i had been buying these for awhile but then i went to college. College is expensive and I have to find a way to enjoy this sucker without going broke every time. I saw the recipe for the white bowl but I love the brown one. I highly suggest just going over to KFC and buying their gravy cause its just that awesome. I bought all the ingredients i needed for about 12$. It makes up for it in the end with well over 10 bowls i can make. Get your potato peeler ready! with about 3-4 potatoes, i had plenty leftover to make 2 more of the bowls. Peel, cut, and stick them in a pot boiling at first then sizzling in water. It was done by the time my chicken was ready to fry. Getting whats important out of the way first, Get your 2 eggs out into a small bowl and whisk the heck out of them for about 2-3 minutes. Add more time to be sure they don't get clumpy. Clumpy eggs stink to work with!
- 2. While the potatoes are boiling, get two more bowls ready, put panko breadcrumbs in one bowl and flour in another. Panko insures that the chicken will be crispy, this is important because using regular flour or regular breadcrumbs makes the chicken more of a sticky food then one you can crunch on when the gravy goes on top. Cut the chicken into long skinny pieces so that it cooks through faster. The faster it cooks, the lighter and crunchier your your chicken will be. I had a fry daddy and i filled it about 1/3rd full of vegetable oil. You can do this with a sauce pan a third filled with oil as well. Take the chicken you cut and dip it in the flour, then dip it in the whisked eggs, then into the panko [hint, flour sticks to chicken, egg sticks to flour, and panko sticks to egg]. potatoes should almost be done by this point =P find a can of corn and i just put the corn in a bowl and stuck it in the microwave. Turn the frydaddy on or stovetop on high [its 7/9 or like 3/4-4/5 from full] wait for it to heat up. Deliciousness is almost here!!!
- 3. Now I suggest going to kfc and buying their brown delicious famous gravy over what i did, but my substitute was just as good. I took a turkey gravy packet from a cheap store brand and added a little chicken bouillon to it. followed the instructions and cooked. you can use a brown gravy but i never had a good tasting brown gravy bought from a store [yet]. there are other copy cat recipes i saw for them involving both beef and chicken bouillon. Get your gravy cooking and continue forward to the chicken! the crispy chicken finally comes about, get that panko'd chicken in the frier and keep a good eye on it as it becomes that beautiful golden brown you want. If yours looks like mine, well at least you tried. If you're young then have an adult help you with this part. the potatoes should be done and ready by the time the chicken is all fried up. Go get your potatoes and strain them out. Then put them in a bowl and mash them up. I suggest using 2 tablespoons of butter and 2 tablespoons of salt for tastier results. Get Your Bowl ready cause Preparation and cooking is all done, now all you have to do is get those cooked ingredients in your bowl. Man that took forever but it was worth it :D
- 4. 1: Take bowl, insert potatoes 2: Insert corn 3: cut up your chicken into smaller pieces, they will remain crunchy because you chose to use panko instead of regular breadcrumbs :D 4: Get that delicious gravy on top making a mess of your creation! 5: don't go easy on the cheese, there wasn't much left when i was done with it. 6: NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM! there you go, KFC famous bowl my style
