Krazy Krunch image

Delicious popcorn snack. In my humble opinion, better than popcorn balls. My sweet adoptive mother fixed this treat for us for Family Home Evenings. It'll always be a good memory!

Yield 2 pounds, 3-4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 6

2 quarts popped corn
1 1/3 cups pecans, almonds or 1 1/3 cups walnuts
1 1/3 cups sugar
1/2 cup butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup clear corn syrup

Steps:

  • Mix popped corn and nuts of choice in a large bowl.
  • Combine sugar, butter, and syrup in a 2 quart sauce pan.
  • Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally 10 to 15 minutes or until mixture turns a light caramel color (soft ball stage).
  • Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla.
  • Pour over popped corn and nuts. Mix to coat well.
  • Spread out on a buttered cookie sheet to dry, then break apart into small bite size pieces and enjoy!
  • Makes about 2 pounds.
