I had this at a friend's house and when we got home, my husband insisted that I call her to get the recipe - so I did.

5 cortland apples, peeled and sliced
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup oil
3/4 cup flour
1 egg
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
sugar
cinnamon

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350.
  • Placed sliced apples in an 8X8 oven safe dish.
  • Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.
  • Mix the remaining ingredients and spread over the top.
  • Bake for 1 hour.
