1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
1/2 cup milk

1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup chopped well-drained maraschino cherries
1/4 cup chopped blanched almonds

These muffins were a bit too dry for my taste. I think I might have overmixed the batter. Next time, I'll be sure to mix it until just combined.
