Mom's Easy Baked Beans image

My mother used to make these for all our summer get-togethers.

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 medium onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1/4 lb bacon, cut into 1" pieces
16 oz canned kidney beans
16 oz frozen lima beans
16 oz canned pork and beans
1 Tbsp yellow mustard
3 Tbsp brown sugar
3 Tbsp vinegar - apple cider or red wine are best
3/4 c ketchup

Steps:

  • 1. Brown bacon in Dutch oven or saute pan, and remove. Saute onion and garlic in bacon grease and return bacon to pan. Pour off any excess grease.
  • 2. If using Dutch oven, add remaining ingredients to pan with bacon mixture and stir to combine.
  • 3. Bake, covered, at 350 degrees for 1 hour
  • 4. If you are not using a Dutch oven, combine all ingredients in oven-proof 3 qt. casserole and bake as directed.
