It doesn't sound like much but I prefer this as an alternative to caramel corn, it is that good. I make it at Christmas time, pink and green and mix them together. Simple to make, sweet and crunchy. Colorful to boot! It goes fast. As far as I know this is an old recipe from long ago.

Yield 8 cups, 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 5

1/2 cup milk
2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
8 cups popped popcorn
food coloring

Steps:

  • Mix milk and sugar in a sauce pan and on medium heat bring to a boil.
  • Careful not to let it burn and do not scrape the sides of the pan or the sugar will crystalize.

  • Place the popcorn in a large bowl then pour the hot liquid over it and coat as evenly as you can.
  • Spread on a cookie sheet to dry.

This popcorn is too expensive to make. I can buy a bag of caramel corn at the store for much cheaper.

This recipe is a bit too complicated for me. I prefer simpler popcorn recipes.

The caramel sauce didn't turn out quite right for me. I think I overcooked it.

This popcorn is a little too sweet for my taste, but I think I just need to use less sugar next time.

This recipe is a keeper! The popcorn is light and fluffy, and the caramel sauce is perfectly gooey. I love that I can make it in the microwave, too.

This Mother Goose popcorn recipe is a game-changer! The caramel coating is perfectly balanced, not too sweet and not too salty. The popcorn is crispy and airy, and the peanuts add a nice crunch. I'll definitely be making this again and again.
