Steps:
- 1. Wash beans in cold water and soak for 10 minutes. Place beans in large pot. Add twice amount of cold water as substance. Bring water to a boil. Lower heat and cook beans for 10 minutes and skim off foam. Add vegetables bay leaf, garlic pepper seasoning, and sage. Cover pot; cook on low heat until beans are soft(at least one hour) Add additional cold water if you need more cooking time. Add tomato paste or crushed tomatoes.
