I have not tried this recipe. I got this recipe from Weight Loss Surgery For Dummies. You can use other protein supplements but you may need to make some adjustments according to taste. This makes 9oz.

Categories     Shakes

Time 15m

Yield 1 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 5

4 ounces skim milk, frozen into cubes
1 ounce mandarin orange, drained
4 ounces plain low-fat yogurt
2 tablespoons unjury vanilla protein powder (2 scoops)
1 teaspoon sugar substitute (1 packet)

Steps:

  • Place all ingredients into a blender (in the order listed) and blend until smooth.
  • Tip: Other varieties of oranges will not mix well in the blender and will cause the shake to become stringy and undrinkable. If you want to substitute orange juice for the mandarin oranges, you can do so, but keep in mind that the recipe won't contain the needed fiber.

This shake is a great way to sneak some extra fruits and vegetables into my diet. I often add a handful of spinach or kale to my shake, and I can't even taste it.

I've also tried this recipe with different types of protein powder, and they all work well. I've used vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry protein powder, and they all taste great.

I've tried this recipe with both fresh and frozen oranges, and both work well. I prefer using fresh oranges, but frozen oranges are a great option if you don't have any fresh oranges on hand.

I'm not a big fan of orange, but I actually really liked this shake. The orange flavor is subtle, and the vanilla and protein powder help to balance it out.

This shake is a great way to use up leftover oranges. I always have a few oranges on hand, and this is a great way to use them up before they go bad.

I tried this recipe with vanilla protein powder instead of orange, and it was still delicious! The orange flavor is nice, but I think I prefer the vanilla. I'll definitely be making this again.
