Time 30m

Yield 12 popovers

Number Of Ingredients 8

1/3 cup whipped butter
1 tablespoon honey (we tried and liked blackbeary)
1 cup unbleached flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup milk or 3/4 cup cream
1 tablespoon butter, melted
2 tablespoons honey, softened
2 eggs

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
  • Grease muffins tins.
  • Stir together the butter and honey and set aside.
  • Sift the flour and salt into a mixing bowl.
  • Combine milk, butter and honey and add to the flour.
  • Stir to combine.
  • Add the eggs and beat until smooth.
  • Fill the muffin tins half full.
  • Bake approximately 18 minutes* but **DO NOT** open the oven door or the popovers will collapse (you want to save the collapsing for later!). *The original directions read 25-30 minutes cooking time. Adjust accordingly.
  • Remove from oven. The popovers will collapse in the center in about 1 minute, usually less time.
  • Remove from the muffin pans.
  • To serve, turn the popover upside down and slather with the honey butter.
  • Puh-Puh-Puh-Piglet, ~Tasty~ and Pooh enjoy their morning smackerel!

These were a fun and easy recipe to make with my kids. They loved helping me mix the ingredients and watching the popovers rise in the oven.

These popovers were amazing! I used a gluten-free flour blend and they still turned out perfectly. Thank you for sharing this recipe!

A bit too dense for my taste, but still good.

These popovers were a disaster! They were flat and rubbery, and tasted like nothing. I followed the recipe exactly, so I'm not sure what went wrong.

Not bad for my first try! The popovers were a little dense, but still tasty. I'll try experimenting with different temperatures and cooking times next time.

I've made popovers before, but this recipe was by far the easiest. The popovers turned out perfectly golden brown and had a lovely crispy crust. Highly recommend!

These popovers were a hit at my dinner party! They were light and fluffy, and the garlic and herb butter was the perfect complement. I will definitely be making these again.
