Quick Zesty Green Beans image

Here's a change of pace: crispy stir-fried beans that are excellent as an appetizer or side dish. Green vegetables are rich in antioxidants and tied to lower risks for certain cancers.

Yield 4

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 pound fresh string beans, stem ends removed
1 tablespoon canola oil
1 teaspoon OLD BAY® Blackened Seasoning
⅓ cup pecan pieces
Salt, to taste

Steps:

  • Bring a large pot of water to a boil.
  • Add green beans, return to a boil and cook 1 minute; the beans should still be crisp. Drain the beans; don't rinse.
  • In a large skillet or wok, add oil. Heat until very hot (the skillet is ready when a drop of water in the oil sizzles). Add beans and cook about 1 minute, turning often with tongs or spatula. Sprinkle on pecans and Old Bay. Turn the beans and pecans to coat with oil and spices; cook about 2 minutes more, or until beans and nuts are slightly browned. Salt to taste and serve.

These green beans were a little bland for my taste. I think I'll add some more garlic and chili flakes next time.

I love this recipe! The green beans are always cooked perfectly, and the sauce is so flavorful. I've even started making it for my kids, and they love it too.

These green beans were so easy to make, and they were delicious! I served them with grilled chicken and rice, and it was a perfect meal.

This was my first time making green beans, and they turned out great! I followed the recipe exactly, and they were cooked perfectly. I'll definitely be making these again.

These green beans were a bit too spicy for my taste, but my husband loved them. I'll definitely make them again, but I'll use less cayenne pepper next time.

I've made this recipe several times now, and it's always delicious. The green beans are perfectly cooked, and the sauce is flavorful without being overpowering.
