This recipe was the signature sweet treat of a neighbor, who has sadly passed on now. But we think of her every time we make this recipe! They are delicious, light bites, perfect for tea parties or other get-togethers. The yield is an approximation - I tend to cut them larger without paying attention, because they are so darn delicious!

[email protected]I used salted butter instead of unsalted butter, and the shortbread was a bit too salty for my taste. I would recommend using unsalted butter and adding salt to taste.

[email protected]The shortbread didn't turn out as crumbly as I expected. I think I might have overmixed the dough. Next time, I'll be sure to mix it less.
