Number Of Ingredients 10

6 boneless center cut pork loin chops
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1/4 cup flour
2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon pepper
1 1/2 tsp. ground mustard
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons olive oil

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Mix the flour, salt, pepper, ground mustard, thyme and garlic powder together. In large frying pan, melt butter and olive oil and saute garlic until tender. Dredge the chops in the flour mixture and fry in a skillet. You don't need to cook them all the way, just get them browned. Next, remove pork chops from skillet and place on rack in roasting pan. Fill pan with water under the rack but do not pork chops touch the water. Cover in foil and bake for 15 minutes at 400 degrees. Lower heat to 250 and allow chops to cook for 3-4 hours on low 250 degree heat. Once chops are done, drain water from roasting pan and put chops back in the oven. Broil for 5 minutes until crispy on top. You may also use a slow cooker for the chops. Put chops in crock pot and cook for 6-8 hours on low.

This recipe is a great starting point, but I made a few changes to suit my taste. I added some garlic and onion powder to the rub, and I used a different type of sauce. The end result was delicious!

I'm not sure what went wrong, but my pork chops turned out tough and chewy. The sauce was good, but the meat was just not edible.

These pork chops were a little dry for my taste, but the sauce was delicious. I think I would try cooking them for a shorter amount of time next time.

I'm not usually a fan of pork chops, but these were amazing! The slow cooker made them so juicy and tender, and the sauce was perfect. I served them over rice, and it was a hit with the whole family.
