I was never big on the traditional shepards pie. Very bland and hated mixed veggies. So I created my own. It is more southwestern.

Steps:
- 1. Cook potatoes and make up as mash potatoes adding 1/2 tsp garlic powder and 1/2 tsp chili powder to the mashed potatoes.
- 2. Brown hamburger in a frying pan and drain off extra grease. Add onions, garlic and chili powder and saute until onions are transparent. Take off the stove.
- 3. In a 8x8 baking dish put the hamburger mixture. Over that pour the creamed corn (or the corn and cream of mushroom soup) and top with mash potatoes and add parmesan cheese over top. Cook for 35-30 minutes on 350 degrees. Note: I butter the inside of a piece of foil and put over top of dish before baking. That way the potatoes are not hard and the parnesan cheese doesn't stick to the foil.
