Number Of Ingredients 15

1 1/4 c water
3 c white bread flour
2 Tbsp dry milk powder
3 Tbsp sugar
1 tsp salt
3 Tbsp butter
3 tsp active dry yeast (not bread machine yeast)
ingredietns for sticky sauce:
1/4 c butter
1/2 c brown sugar
1/4 c corn syrup (light)
1/2 c nuts (broken, pecans are typicially southern but you can use walnuts too)
filling:
1/3 c soft butter
1 tsp cinnamon

Steps:

  • 1. Remove dough from the machine after the dough or manual cycle is completed. Let rest while you prepare the sticky sauce by warming all the sauce ingredients, except for the pecans, over medium heat until sugar dissolves.
  • 2. Pour the sticky sauce in a 13x9 pan. Sprinkle with broken nuts.
  • 3. Turn dough out onto floured surface (it will be sticky), and punch down. Form into a rectangle with your finger tips. Dot with soft butter and sprinkle with cinnamon.
  • 4. Roll jellyroll style and pinch seams together. Slice into 1 1/2 inch slices. place into pan on top of sticky sauce, and let double in size ( about 1 hour in my oven with just the light on)
  • 5. Bake at 375 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Cool for no more than three minutes, then invert pan so sauce and the nuts are on top on the buns. Let cool before you pull them apart with two forks.

These sticky buns were easy to make and turned out great. The glaze was a bit too thick for my taste, but overall I was very happy with the recipe.

These sticky buns were a bit too sweet for my taste, but they were still very good. The dough was soft and fluffy, and the glaze was very sticky. I think I would reduce the amount of sugar in the glaze next time.

I've tried many sticky bun recipes, but this one is by far the best. The buns are incredibly fluffy and the glaze is perfectly sticky. I highly recommend this recipe.
