STIR-FRIED BEEF IN OYSTER SAUCE image

Number Of Ingredients 12

1lb rump/sirlion steak, cut into thin slices
2tbsp soy sauce
1tbsp corn flour
3tbsp vegetable oil
1tbsp chopped garlic
1tbsp chopped root ginger
8oz mixed mushrooms, such as shiitake, oyster, chesnut and wild.
2tbsp oyster sauce
1tsp granulated sugar
4 spring onions, cut into short lengths
cracked black pepper
2 red chillies, cut into stips, to garnish

Steps:

  • mix togehther the soy sauce and corn flour in a large bowl, stir in the beef strips and leave to marinate for 1-2hours heat half the oil in a wok. Add the garlic and ginger and fry until fragrant. Stir in the strips of beef. Stir to seperate the pieces, allow them to colour and cook for 1-2 minutes. Remove from the pan and set aside. Heat the remaingiing oil in the wok. Add your selection of mushrooms, and cook until tender. Return the beef to the wok with the mushrooms. Add the oyster sauce, sugar, and freshly ground black pepper to taste. Mix well. Add the spring onions. Mix together serve garnished with the strips of red chilli
