Tailgate Party Ham Sandwiches image

I got this recipe when I lived in North Carolina. It was a staple whenever the Garden Club brought appetizers to the Christmas Party. It also works as a tailgate appetizer. You can make them ahead and freeze them or refrigerate them overnight.If you are in a hurry, you can make them and immediately put them in the oven. I prefer...

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 stick butter or margarine,softened
1/2 small onion, minced
2 tsp poppy seeds
1 tsp dijon mustard
1/2 tsp worchestershire sauce
1 pkg hawaiian sweet rolls
1 pkg 7 oz ham, chopped
1 pkg 6 oz baby swiss sliced

Steps:

  • 1. Beat butter and next4 ingredients at medium speed with an electric mixer until blended
  • 2. Split rolls horizontally without separating. Leave the bottom half in the cardboard container.
  • 3. Spread butter mixture evenly over bottom half.
  • 4. Top with ham ,cheese, and remaining half of rolls. Slice through to cut the individual roll for easier handling after baking. ( you may to cut slightly again after the cheese melts)
  • 5. Wrap in heavy duty tin foil and bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.
