Time 25m

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 c long grain rice, uncooked
3 - 3 1/2 c water or chicken broth or as much needed for rice to become tender - chicken broth naturally will add more flavor.
1 pkg onion soup mix
12 oz mixed vegetables. frozen or favorite combination
1 tsp garlic salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1 tsp dried parsley
1 Tbsp butter

Steps:

  • 1. In a large saucepan over medium heat bring rice, start with 3 cups liquid, garlic salt, pepper and soup mix to a boil.
  • 2. Once boiling add the frozen vegetables and bring to another boil...reduce heat to simmer, cover and cook another 15 - 20 minutes or until rice is cooked. Keep checking and add more water or broth as needed so the rice doesn't stick, but until tender.
  • 3. When rice is cooked, stir in butter and parsley. Serve hot as a side to just about any dish.

Not bad, but not great either. I found the rice to be a bit bland. Maybe I'll try adding some more spices next time.

This dish was so easy to make and it turned out delicious! I used brown rice instead of white and it was still great.

I made this rice last night and it was a hit with my family! Everyone loved the cheesy, buttery goodness. I will definitely be making it again.

This rice dish was fantastic! So easy and quick to make, and the flavor was out of this world. The combination of garlic, butter, and cheese was perfect.
