Yield 4-6 servings

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 cup ketchup
1 cup vinegar
1/2 cup molasses
1/2 cup honey
1 tsp liquid smoke
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp Tabasco sauce

Steps:

  • 1. Combine all of the ingredients for the barbeque sauce in a saucepan over high heat. Use a whisk to blend the ingredients until smooth. 2. When the mixture comes to a boil, reduce the heat and simmer uncovered. 3. In 30-45 minutes, when the mixture thickens, remove it from the heat. If you want a thicker sauce, heat it longer. If you make the sauce too thick, thin it with vinegar.

I'm not sure what I did wrong, but my sauce turned out really runny. I think I might have added too much liquid.

I couldn't find any chili sauce so I used ketchup instead. It turned out great!

This sauce is a little too sweet for my taste. I think I'll try adding some more vinegar next time.

I was a little hesitant to try this sauce because I'm not a big fan of honey barbecue sauce. But I was pleasantly surprised. This sauce is really good. It's not too sweet and it has a nice tang to it.
